1. Registration & Fees
Students in grade 10 and 11 can register for the 2018 Pre-ACT exam on or before August 1, 2018 midnight EST. The exam will be administered at the Holliston High School campus on Saturday, September 15, 2018. The cost for each exam is $35.
Registrants will be expected to attend a mandatory Pre-Administration session on a date to be announced in early October, 2018. Location information for the pre-administration session and the actual exam will be communicated to registrants.
2. Why take the Pre-ACT exam?
The new PreACT, administered in grade 10 and 11, predicts student performance on the ACT and can be used as an indicator of college and career readiness. Reports include data to help teachers and counselors target interventions, inform classroom instruction, and guide students in course selection as well as other decisions on their educational paths. ThePreACT score and predicted ACT score ranges align to the ACT 1–36 scale. The ACT Interest Inventory (part of the Pre-ACT) results provide students with a personalized view of interests with college and career alignment
3. When are scores released?
Pre-ACT scores are released 2-4 weeks after the exam.
4. Can I cancel my exam and receive a refund?
No. Cancellations and refunds of the exam fees is not possible.
5. How do I prepare for the exam?
ACT has detailed exam information and test prep resources available on their website. (This includes some excellent free resources. ) Please click HERE to access those.
6. Where do I report for the exam?
Students report at 7:30am on Saturday, September 15, 2018 to the Cafeteria hallway.
7. Are there fee reductions available?
Yes, students who believe they are eligible for a Pre-ACT fee reduction should apply through Ms. Ross’s office (in counseling.) If approved, you will be given a fee reduction code to apply to the online registration form. It will automatically reduce the cost of the exam for you.Order the Pre-ACT
